The CBAM Essentials course is a 90-minute online programme designed for procurement managers, import compliance officers, and finance leads who need a working understanding of their CBAM obligations without getting lost in regulatory detail.
What the course covers:The course is structured across four modules. Module one introduces the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism — what it is, why it exists, and which sectors and goods are in scope. Module two covers the timeline of obligations, including the transitional reporting period and the full compliance phase from 2026. Module three walks through the mechanics of embedded emissions calculation and the difference between actual and default benchmark values. Module four covers the practical steps to register as an authorised declarant and submit quarterly reports.
Who should attend:Anyone at an importing business who handles procurement of steel, aluminium, cement, fertilisers, or electricity from outside the EU. No prior knowledge of carbon markets or EU regulation is required.
On completion:Participants receive a Certificate of Completion and a printed reference guide covering key deadlines, CN codes in scope, and contact points for the CBAM Registry.
