cbam-assured delivers CBAM training accredited by the International Association for the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (IACBAM). Three courses cover the people who need it: teams at importing businesses, those who manage declarations, and the consultants and practitioners who build and check the emissions data. Each course ends with an IACBAM assessment and certificate.

Our courses are accredited by the International Association for the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, the independent professional body for CBAM practitioners. Participants who complete a course and pass the IACBAM assessment receive an official certificate.
Fundamentals and Declarant Certification carry recognition as an IACBAM Associate, listed on iacbam.org. The MRV Consultants course leads to IACBAM 3006 certification at Foundation or Practitioner level, on a three-year cycle.

Questions about CBAM training
Who needs CBAM training?
Businesses that import goods covered by CBAM, the declarants who file for them, the producers outside the EU who supply the emissions data, and the consultants who support all three. Our guide to the 50-tonne threshold explains whether the rules apply to you.
Is the training accredited?
Yes. Every course is assessed to an IACBAM standard, and cbam-assured is a certified IACBAM 3003:2025 training provider.
How long does a course take?
Fundamentals and Declarant Certification each take 4 to 8 hours. The MRV Consultants course has seven self-study modules at Foundation level and six at Practitioner level, with a live day and an exam at each level. Expect 20 to 24 hours of study for the full pathway.
Can we take the training online?
Yes. Fundamentals and Declarant Certification can be delivered online, at your premises or as a group session.
How much does CBAM training cost?
CBAM Fundamentals and Declarant Certification each start from €500 per person. The MRV Consultants course costs €1,500 at Foundation level and €3,750 for Foundation to Practitioner.
What certificate do we receive?
An official IACBAM certificate on passing the assessment. Fundamentals and Declarant Certification carry recognition as an IACBAM Associate. The MRV Consultants course leads to Foundation or Practitioner certification. Practitioner certification requires a three-hour exam, marked independently by IACBAM.
Does the training cover the UK CBAM?
CBAM Fundamentals covers the UK CBAM, which starts on 1 January 2027, alongside the EU scheme. Declarant Certification covers the EU CBAM only. See UK CBAM training for what UK importers need to understand.
